I think one of the biggest challenges I see people facing is the enormity of their desire for change and success.
It seems these days people want so much. And that’s okay; it’s an expression of our desire to meet the full potential of our true creative power because in truth we CAN create what we want and have it all.
This is particularly prevalent for purpose driven business people conscious of their creative power.
The knowledge that you CAN create so much becomes the problem.
We want it all now.
In the same way that our brains are geared to focus on only so many bits and chunks of information per second, our creative focus is equally geared.
Our creative power needs focus to make manifest of our desires and hence it likes to do things in small chunks and steps.
Your true self knows that one thing leads to another, that each brick in the wall builds the castle, and so trying to achieve it all at once will only bring confusion, overwhelm and a strong sense of helplessness.
It’s not a case of stifled creativity its a case of an overloaded consciousness that blocks you.
This ‘need’ to have and achieve so much becomes cyclic. The more we don’t have it the more we want it. This want feeds into the issue of not having; stretching the gap between where we are and where we want to be until one day it all seems so complex. We can then find ourselves having the experience of not knowing what to do about it.
Often the simplest action is the most powerful.
The most potent and regular question I find myself asking clients is,
“What’s the one, simplest thing you can do now that will help you begin to make the change you desire with the least amount of effort necessary?”
The answer generally involves bringing things back to basics or employing a resource that is at your disposal that you hadn’t thought about.
It really is simple though.
A single drop in the ocean can send ripples in every direction. Those ripples can become waves; those waves can become a tsunami of change and creativity.
And know this; that change and boost of creativity is really what you are yearning for, perhaps even more so than the outcome.
Outcomes are fleeting, when we have one thing we want the next, we look for the next level growth, the next level challenge. Ultimately what we want more than anything is to be exploring our creative potential, not so much for what it earns us, or for what we achieve – it’s the process of achieving that really drives us.
To know and trust that you forever are moving toward the realisation of your highest potential in this lifetime is really all you need and want.
This is why it’s so frustrating when we get stuck or stifled.
Traction, action, movement and realistic, simple, immediate steps are what you need. That’s the fix you’re really looking for. Once you have that the next step presents itself, then the next one and the next one.
So what’s the one simple thing you can do now that would bring about the greatest amplification of your creativity and the greatest level of change for you, simply and easily?
Whatever that is, just do it, start there and see where it takes you.
