Do you sometimes feel held back by a deep internal obstacle or block but are uncertain as to specifically what it actually is and what you can do about it?
Would you like to identify the real problem, the real issue that holds you back from achieving on the level that you know you’re capable of and what steps you can take to move through it and next level your results?
One of the biggest problems that my Mastery Coaching clients come to me with, at the beginning of their journey, is that they know something is not right. They know that there’s a deeper issue that holds them back from achieving to their full potential, but they don’t know what it is, and they don’t know what to do about it.
In over 15 years of coaching, instructing, and training people, both on a group and one on one level, I can tell you that I have seen thousands of problems. What I’ve noticed is that there is something common amongst all of those problems, and that is that those problems exist on three different levels.
The 3 Levels of Your Problem
The first level of the problem is the surface level. The surface level is the stuff you’re aware of and you’re willing to discuss or share. What we’re talking about here is perhaps “I’m a little bit stressed”, “I’m a little bit anxious”, “I’m a little bit demotivated at the moment”, “I wouldn’t mind getting some greater results out of business and life”.
The second level is the mid level, and this is the stuff you’re aware of and you’re not willing to discuss or consciously reveal. These are slightly deeper and slightly scarier problems, like fear of failure, self-doubt, uncertainty on your direction, uncertainty on your purpose, feeling confusion, feeling anger, feeling resent, feeling regret, experiencing procrastination, feeling stuck, perhaps even suffering from self-criticism, these kinds of things. They’re a little bit harder to talk about.
Then there’s the third level, and that’s the deep level problem. The deep level problem is the stuff that you’re not aware of, and because you’re not aware of it, you don’t discuss it. Even if you were aware of it, it would be a mid level problem. You still wouldn’t be willing to discuss it, because it’s core stuff. So we’re getting to the core of the issue here.
Two major misconceptions that people have about the core problem that holds them back from achieving on the level that they’d like to, are these two things called ‘trauma’ and ‘drama’.
Trauma and drama get blamed so much for our results in life. I’m not saying that trauma and drama don’t have some sort of level of conditioning or affect on how we present in the world and the results that we get. That’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is that you can’t blame it all on those things. There are plenty of people who have experienced a lot of trauma, a lot of drama, and what they do with it is they take it and they use it to transform themselves. They use it to get the results that they’re looking for in life.
I don’t believe its trauma and drama that’s at the core of your issues. I think it’s something a lot deeper and perhaps even a lot simpler than that. I believe that each and every one of us has a unique inner, core-potential, something that we’re here to achieve, and express, and do in this life better than we could ever imagine. It’s the expression of our best self. The core problem is the way that we think, the way that we feel, and the way that we act is not aligned with our true potential.
What happens is we feel this potential difference between where we are and what we know we’re capable of, and as that gap starts to expand further and further, the tension starts to expand further and further within ourselves. It then manifests as these mid level problems.
So in short, stop blaming drama and trauma for you challenges, it’s an issue of misalignment.
What can we do with this information?
Well, this information actually makes it really, really easy for us, because now we don’t have to solve any problem. There’s nothing wrong with you. There’s nothing broken. There’s nothing that needs healing. There’s just an alignment that needs to take place.
3 Steps To Get Aligned with Your Core Potential
The first step is you need to identify your core potential. Your core potential is something that is evident in everything that you do. It’s evident in your goals that you set, and the conversations that you have, and the things that you focus on, and where you see your true potential starting to unfold in the world. Identify your core potential.
The second step is to become very aware, become very conscious of the thoughts, the precise thoughts, the precise feelings, and the precise actions that are not in alignment with that thing that you know you’re capable of, and start to become very, very aware of them.
The third step is that once you’re aware of them, you need to strategize, and plan, and act with discipline to align your thoughts feelings and actions with your true potential.
There’s the three steps to be able to bring yourself back into alignment, and do something about that core obstacle that you’ve been experiencing.
